Holistic Home-Based Preschool
Our Village
At Widdlekins, children are held by a circle of caring adults with many gifts—song, story, craft, cooking, and nature play.
Together, we are a multigenerational village of life-long learners, where even “G’ma” brings her grandmotherly wisdom, patience, and warmth. In this way, teaching and learning flow naturally across generations, nurturing each child with joy, rhythm, and belonging.

Director & Lead Teacher
Teacher Erinn
Teacher Erinn’s journey began in a Waldorf kindergarten, where soft rhythms, gentle stories, and the feeling of being truly seen left a lasting imprint on her heart. Years later, when she became a mother, that same sense of presence and wonder called her back to early childhood in a new way. She slowed down, tuned in, and followed her heart into creating Widdlekins—a warm, home-based preschool in Portland where childhood is honored and every child can grow at their own pace.
With nearly 20 years of experience as a professional bookkeeper and now as a preschool director, Teacher Erinn brings both strong organization and deep care to her work. At Widdlekins, you’ll find her leading with kindness, creating space for play, stories, nature walks, messy art, and meaningful connection. She believes children learn best when they feel safe, supported, and free to explore the world around them.
Currently completing her Waldorf Early Childhood Teacher Certification, Erinn blends her personal experiences as a Waldorf student and mother to guide the children of Widdlekins with warmth, intention, and joy.

Musical Guest Teacher
Teacher David
David Pollack is a musician, songwriter, and educator who brings over a decade of experience working with children through the language of music. Raised in New York City and now rooted in Portland, Oregon, David has dedicated his life to making music a shared, living experience—whether through performance, community projects, or early childhood education.
As a teacher, David blends structure and spontaneity, guiding children through songs, rhythm games, and movement with a gentle presence and playful spirit. His approach honors each child as capable, curious, and worthy of respect. Classes with David feel alive—filled with laughter, clapping hands, tapping toes, and the steady heartbeat of connection.
In his work with toddlers and preschoolers, David draws from many musical traditions, introducing little ones to a wide range of sounds and instruments. He trusts in the power of rhythm and repetition, while leaving room for the magic of the moment—adjusting the tempo, tone, or story based on what the children bring that day.
David is also a co-founder of Curbside Serenade, a project that brings live music to community spaces in accessible, joyful ways. When not teaching, he can be found writing songs, performing, or playing guitar in the sun—always seeking ways to connect and uplift through music.
At Widdlekins, Teacher David's presence brings warmth, delight, and a chorus of children, shouting "Teacher David!!!". His music supports the seasonal rhythms of our days and nourishes the senses and souls of children and grown-ups alike.

Assistant Teacher
Teacher Naomi
Naomi brings a calm, nurturing presence and a genuine love for working with young children. She believes in treating each child with kindness, respect, and trust—meeting them where they are and supporting them as they grow in their own time and way.
Raised in a home where nature, rhythm, and hands-on living were part of daily life, Naomi spent her childhood outdoors, creating, exploring, and playing. Those early experiences continue to shape her caregiving style today—slow, intentional, and full of wonder.
Naomi is an artist who finds joy in crafting, cooking, and making everyday moments feel beautiful and meaningful. She delights in encouraging open-ended play and gently guiding children through their own discoveries with warmth and curiosity.
Eager to learn more about the Waldorf philosophy and method, Naomi is planning to study Early Childhood Education and deepen her path as a teacher. Her presence at Widdlekins brings steadiness, creativity, and heartfelt joy to our days together.
